Alison Doody
Alison Doody was born in Dublin in the Republic of Ireland, on the 11th of November 1966. The model is as well an Irish actor. Her debut came in the Bond movie, A View to a Kill in 1985. In 1989 she played Nazi-sympathizing archaeologist Elsa Schneider in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Siobhan Doovan played Charlotte as Taffin in 1988, and Rebecca Flannery starred in Major League II in 1994. Doody started modeling after being offered by a professional photographer. This led to a successful career as a commercial model. Doody did not wear fashion, thongs and glamour when she was modeling. In 1985, following getting noticed by the directors of casting for a James Bond new film, Doody was cast in a minor part in Jenny Flex as in A View to a Kill. Doody was named as one of 12 Promising New Actors of 1986 by John Willis Screen World, Vol. 38. Doody had just turned age 18 when she took on the role of Bond girl. She is still the youngest Bond girl to date. A Prayer for the Dying (1997), starring Mickey Rourke, also featured an unimportant role in the form of IRA Siobhan. Doody played Archibald Craven in his dreams in the 1987 adaptation from The Secret Garden. She played Lilias. The first time she played the lead in the 1988 episode of Jim Henson fantasy series The Storyteller in the role of Sapsorrow with John Hurt Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders. She played opposite Pierce Brosnan, in the 1988 film Taffin. In the following film, she played her biggest role yet in the film Taffin as Austrian Nazisympathiser and Archaeologist Dr. Elsa Schneider playing alongside Harrison Ford. Doody has worked with three James Bond actors. Doody was co-starring with Jonathan Pryce, in the British mini-series Selling Hitler. The series was an inspiration for The Hitler Diaries publishing scam. After moving to Hollywood, Doody became a star. The decision was made to replace Cybill Shepard in the role of L'Oreal spokeswoman. She went on to star opposite Charlie Sheen as Flannery, his agent and girlfriend in Major League II. Doody who was away from acting for almost 10 years, came back 2003 to play a small role on her role in the British comedy The Actors in which Michael Caine played her as a character at an award ceremony. Her roles include an appearance in a TV movie version of King Solomon's Mines in 2004 and a book about the Holocaust, and a short film called Benjamin's Struggle in 2005. In 2010 Doody shot a part on Danny Dyer's feature film The Rapture (2010). The Clinic, a medical drama that aired on RTE. The Asphyx was the remake she made in 2011. In 2011 she began the second season in the E4 comedy drama Beaver Falls playing Pam Jefferson. In 2014, she was a part of We Still Kill the Old Way. In November of 2018, she was honored by the Almeria the tierra de cine prize and was awarded an award in the Almeria Walk of Fame.
