Arnel went on to spend two years sleeping in the streets. He slept anywhere he could at parks, in the streets, and on tiny benches that were outside of crowded homes. He sold newspapers, glass bottles, and scrap metals to recyclers. Arnel also did odd jobs, including docking ships and cleaning the scrap metal. Cherry Pineda is Arnel's wife. The couple tied the knot in 2001. The couple has had two children: a daughter (Thea Chenelle Pineda) and one son (Cherub). Arnel also has Matthew and Angelo, two of his older sons.
