Angelina Jolie, original name Angelina
Jolie Voight, (born on June 4, 1975 in Los Angeles, California, U.S.), American
actress and director known for her sexy appeal and edginess and also for her
charitable work. Jolie was awarded an Academy Award for her supporting role as
a mental patient in Girl, Interrupted (1999).Jolie, daughter of actor Jon
Voight, spent much of her childhood in New York before relocating to Los
Angeles at age 11. After two years at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film
Institute and Film Institute, she was accepted into Beverly Hills High School.
New York University later taught her drama. Jolie was also an actor in theater
productions. She also modelled and appeared in music videos. Jolie met Jonny
Lee Miller (1996 divorced in 1999, divorced). In addition to the other films,
Hackers did not find an audience. Jolie as the role of governor's wife of
Alabama's segregationist governor, received much attention in 1997. Later, she
won an award called the Golden Globe Award. She played the role of a supermodel
suffering from drug addiction in the HBO movie Gia in 1999. Her performance was
rewarded with numerous awards including an award of the Golden Globe Award and
Screen Actors Guild Award. In 1999 she appeared in the comedy Pushing Tin with John
Cusack and Billy Bob Thornton, and the following year she married Thornton
(divorced 2003).After her Oscar-winning turn in Girl, Interrupted, Jolie played
a variety of action-oriented films. Jolie played the girlfriend of the
carjacker (Nicolas Cage) in Gone in Sixty Seconds 2000. Later, she adopted the
British accent as well as mastered street fights and kickboxing to play the
role in Lara Croft Tomb Raider 2001 and Lara Croft Tomb Raider The Cradle of
Life 2003. Jolie played Alexander's mother in Oliver Stone’s Alexander in 2004
and was also in the film with Jude Law and Gwyneth paltrow in Sky Captain: The
World of Tomorrow the thriller featuring sci-fi in 1930s New York City. Both
films disappointed in terms of box-office revenue, however Jolie's Mr.
& Mrs. Smith (2005) was successful. Jolie played a character pretending
to play a normal housewife while she worked on the movie. Brad Pitt became her
partner.
